Community guidelines and responsibilities
GuidingVillage exists to help homeschool families connect locally, discover opportunities, and build meaningful community. These terms explain the expectations for using the platform so that GuidingVillage remains safe, respectful, and welcoming for everyone.
Family accounts
GuidingVillage accounts are created by adults. Parents may add family members under their account so children can participate in villages and mini-villages. Parents remain responsible for activity associated with their family account and any profiles created under it.
Child safety and supervision
Child profiles are intended to be supervised by parents or guardians. Parents control the creation and management of child accounts and are responsible for guiding how their children participate in community spaces.
Village and mini-village participation
Villages and mini-villages are community spaces where families can talk, share experiences, and build relationships. All members are expected to communicate respectfully and help create a welcoming environment for others.
Respectful communication
Chat and discussion spaces should remain kind and constructive. Harassment, inappropriate content, or abusive behavior is not allowed. GuidingVillage may remove content or restrict accounts that violate community standards.
Local events and meetups
Families may share events or gatherings within the platform. GuidingVillage does not organize or supervise these events. Participation in local meetups is voluntary and users are responsible for their own safety and decisions when meeting others in person.
User-to-user transactions
If marketplace features are available, transactions occur directly between users. GuidingVillage does not guarantee products, services, or transactions listed by members. Users are responsible for complying with applicable laws and making informed decisions.
Personal information
GuidingVillage collects only the information necessary to operate the platform and support community features. Personal information is used to maintain accounts, connect families locally, and improve the experience. We do not sell personal data.
Maintaining a healthy community
GuidingVillage may remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that harm the community or violate these guidelines. Our goal is to maintain a respectful and safe environment for homeschool families.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as GuidingVillage evolves. Continued use of the platform means accepting the current version of the guidelines.
